ThreadLifts...

Anchor/Lifting Threads

These type of thread have small cones/barbs along the thread to grip the underlying surface of the skin (dermis). If placed correctly they can be lifted and can lock in tissue to allow a pulled up youthful appearance. Targeted use of threads can reduce sagging and reshape and contour the face. They can be used instead of OR in conjunction with dermal filler and toxin injections.

Trajectory selection: optimal trajectory selection can target multiple facial areas at once. An example of this is using 2x types of Lifting threads into the cheek at the same insertion site can be used to lift cheeks, jowels AND soften nasolabial folds. Trajectories are based on desired effect and facial shape variance.

Collagen Stimulating

Similar to Anchoring threads however are predominantly smooth PDO threads used to stimulate collagen production to scaffold and strengthen the underlying skin enhancing elasticity and tone. Several smaller threads placed accurately may enhance youthful appearance.

An example of scaffolding for "double chin": crosshatch PDO cog inserted to reinforce the drag/droop applied by the weight of the fat, enhancing elasticity and lift. When this is coupled with Lipolysis to dissolve the double chin, the desired facial contour is achieved.

MonoThreads: small collagen stimulating threads can be inserted in any area especially thin and gentle regions to build skin collagen and thickness over time. Popular areas include; under eye, crows feet, frown lines, vermilion border of lips, smoker's lines, jawline.

Duration:

Threads usually dissolve within a 6month period however the duration of their effect can last upto 2-5 years or longer depending on your degree of collagen production.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Question 1: How long does the result last and how many treatments are required?

The PDO threads will dissolve over approximately 6-12 months, but during this time, they continue to stimulate the collagen formation around them, thus enhancing skin tightness, fullness and integrity. This collagen will persist often even after 2 years from the time of the procedure. So the treatments continue to rejuvenate long after it was done. (Note it can take 4-weeks for the process to begin forming collagen).

As the aging process and time inevitably continue to tick over, yiu may require an additional supportive thread or two (varies depending on the change in bone resorption, fat pad loss and other environmental factors).

Question 2: Is the treatment painful?

The treatment is performed under local anesthetic, minimising discomfort during insertion of the suture. There is some firm rubbing of the skin by the doctor, to activate the lifting hooks on the thread, however is generally well tolerated.

Question 3: Who will be performing the treatment?

The treatment is performed by a qualified proceduralist Doctor, trained and certified in threadlifts and various other cosmetic medicine treatments. You will be in excellent hands. You are always encouraged to ask questions and seek more information about the treatments, we want your to feel comfortable and reassured.

Question 4: What are the side effects of the treatment?

You may experience side effects including: bruising, swelling, redness, slight pulling or mild pucker of the skin where the thread is placed, this is normal and will subside within 2 weeks. Any pucker that remains, can easily be released by the doctor (often releasing the pucker too early may deactivate the thread and the desired lift, hence allowing the skin to relax on its own over the next 2 weeks will ensure your lift remains effective). Be reassured, there are no issues that cant be fixed, you will be able to contact the doctor if any unexpected issues arise (these are rare and infrequent).

Question 5: How long does the treatment take to complete?

The treatment should take approximately 30-minutes.

Question 6: How do I book in for treatment?

All threadlift treatments are by appointment which must be booked in online (go to Book Online tab). Treatments are only provided at The East Melbourne clinic (12 Wellington Pde, East Melbourne VIC 3002) on Sunday 9am - 3pm.

A deposit is required to confirm your booking. Bookings need to be made at least 48hrs in advance.
